Refom Sex Offender Laws . Org planet graphic.
We believe many aspects of the current approach to sex offenders seriously undermine justice and make our society less compatible with the welfare of young people. We support carefully limited laws that target harmful acts, not whole classes of people, and which rehabilitate rather than vindictively punish and shame offenders. We assert that only by supporting justice for all people can we maintain a safe society.

From the Reform Sex Offender Laws Now! Statement.

The purpose of this website is to raise critical awareness about legal and social policy in the United States about sex offenders. We believe these policies should change, and that thoughtful people will agree when they know the facts. Please read our introductory article An Urgent Call to Support the Well Being of Children and the Rights of Us All by Paul Shannon to get a general background on the issue. Then read our official statement, Reform Sex Offender Laws Now!, which has been signed by academics and activists. We are seeking your signature and support for our message, too. If you are convinced, we know you will want to learn more and speak to your friends and associates about this important subject. We have collected written materials which will be helpful for you to learn more, and inform others. Please begin by clicking on the following menu items.

We aim to provide articles, links to news stories, as well as commentary on the fast-moving area of sex offender policy on our blog. You can make a contribution, too. We are especially interested in reports or analysis of lobbying efforts, reforms, and other developments in your local area, though you may send any media article of interest. We will also accept personal commentary explaining why developing a critical awareness about sex offender policy is important to you. Such personal stories can help others think differently. With diverse content we hope ReformSexOffenderLaws.Org will become an important information resource. Please send us all your comments and suggestions about this site and the project.

Registrants should contact Paul Shannon, and make checks or money orders payable to him (not tax exempt). Pay-Pal is not available. Paul is a well-known peace educator who has organized many national conferences. Paul will forward Texas registrants to Mary Sue Molnar, contact for Texas Voices.
